Prince Albert II Inaugurates the 15th Journées de l’Art-Bre in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin
H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco attended the inauguration of the 15th edition of the Journées de l’Art-Bre, held this year under the theme “Cinquantenaire André Malraux,” commemorating fifty years since the death of the celebrated French writer, statesman and champion of culture.
Welcomed by Roquebrune-Cap-Martin Mayor Patrick Cesari, alongside Martine Cesari, President of the Tourist Office, and Anne-Hélène Mazzoni, Director of the Tourist Office, the Sovereign took part in a programme celebrating art, heritage and cultural dialogue.
A highlight of the inauguration was the unveiling of a bust of André Malraux by artist Cyril de La Patellière. Prince Albert II also discovered Poséidon and viewed a portrait of Prince Rainier III and Princess Grace by contemporary artist Marcos Marin, before discovering works including Suspensions and Basse-cour by Martin Caminiti.
The Prince’s presence underscored the longstanding cultural ties between Monaco and neighbouring Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, while the 15th Journées de l’Art-Bre offered a fitting tribute to Malraux’s enduring belief in the power of art and culture to connect generations.
