Monaco Moves Closer to Completing FATF Action Plan

Monaco has reported further progress in its efforts to strengthen its anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing framework.

At a meeting of the Coordination and Monitoring Committee on 10 September, the Government reviewed the latest stage of the FATF monitoring process. According to the communiqué, FATF has preliminarily concluded that the Principality has largely completed the action plan adopted in June 2024.

The next step will be an on-site visit to Monaco to assess whether the reforms are being effectively implemented in practice.

Monaco will meanwhile continue its broader compliance work, including a third National Risk Assessment and preparations for its next MONEYVAL evaluation. Until a formal FATF decision is taken, the Principality remains under increased monitoring.
