Camille Gottlieb Brings a New Generation to Global Gift Gala Monaco
Ahead of the second edition of the Global Gift Gala Monaco, Camille Gottlieb talks youth engagement, volunteering and the case for making philanthropy something people practise — not simply attend.
In Monaco, charity galas are not difficult to find. The harder task is making one feel necessary.
That was the underlying question at the press conference for the second Global Gift Gala Monaco, held at the Café de Paris Monte-Carlo ahead of the event. The gala itself will take place on October 9 in the Salle Empire at the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo, a setting that requires little assistance in the glamour department.
Part of the evening’s organisation is being handled by CMC Consulting, the agency co-founded by Camille Gottlieb and her longtime friend Medy Anthony. Their involvement gives the Monaco edition a more direct local connection — significant for an international charity format still establishing itself in the Principality.
We first spoke with Medy, who outlined the ambitions behind the second edition. The intention is for Monaco to become one of the recurring destinations on the Global Gift calendar, alongside established editions in cities including Paris, London and Marbella.

There is a clear financial target, too: around €400,000, with the longer-term aim of gradually increasing the amount raised from one edition to the next.
Medy also offered a glimpse of how the Monaco edition came together in the first place. The idea, he recalled, emerged over dinner with Eva Longoria and her team, when someone simply asked: why not bring Global Gift to Monaco? Within a week, the first conversations about making it happen were already under way. APM Monaco, already closely involved with Global Gift elsewhere, became an important part of that early support.
For him, however, the idea was never simply to import an international gala and let Monaco serve as its backdrop. From the outset, the aim was to involve local associations, businesses and supporters, and to ensure that the Principality had a meaningful place in the event itself.
That local support is already becoming visible. Anthony noted that Monaco-based contributors have backed the second edition with auction lots, gifts and other forms of support — an encouraging sign for an event still establishing itself in the Principality.
That is where Camille Gottlieb becomes more than a familiar name on the invitation.
“It was obvious for me to be part of this adventure”

When we spoke with Gottlieb, the conversation quickly moved beyond the gala itself. What seemed to matter most to her were the causes behind it: supporting children, women in need and families going through difficult circumstances. She spoke warmly about Maria Bravo, whom she described as an inspiring and exceptional woman, and about Eva Longoria, whom she has admired since childhood.
For Camille Gottlieb, the decision to get involved was less a gesture than a natural extension of the causes she already cares about.
“For me, it was obvious to be part of this adventure.”
The organisers also regard her involvement as important in strengthening the gala’s ties with Monaco’s institutions, partners and local community. For an event only in its second year, that is likely to matter. The test is whether Global Gift Gala Monaco can become an international event with a durable place in the philanthropic life of the Principality.
A younger idea of philanthropy
Drawing on her work with the youth section of the Red Cross, Camille said she has seen more and more young people willing to give their time to help others — something she considers just as important as financial support. For her, volunteering is about learning early to take responsibility, to be present and to carry those values forward. She traces much of that outlook back to her mother, Princess Stéphanie of Monaco, whom she has often looked to as an example of commitment and service.
That influence gives Camille’s approach to philanthropy a personal dimension. Donations make projects possible and visibility helps bring attention to them, but real engagement, in her view, also means showing up. And when it comes to the younger generation, her message is clear: the aim is not simply to bring them into the room, but to encourage them to take part.
A Monaco connection
Asked what Monaco brings to an international charity event, Gottlieb described the relationship as a “win-win”. She pointed to Global Gift’s presence in destinations such as Tokyo, Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Cannes, and sees Monaco as a natural fit within that international network. The Principality brings not only prestige, but also a strong philanthropic tradition and an international outlook, while the gala offers another way to connect Monaco with causes beyond its borders. At the same time, the local dimension remains important: organisers have said that this year’s fundraising will support initiatives focused on children, families, women and education, with Monaco-linked organisations also set to benefit. Ultimately, that balance between international reach and local impact may be what gives the Monaco edition its lasting relevance.
The glamour is part of the machinery
The Global Gift Gala makes no secret of the fact that glamour is part of its appeal, and this year is no exception. Maria Bravo and Eva Longoria remain closely associated with the event, while Lara Fabian is among the headline names announced for the Monaco edition.
The auction will provide another key fundraising element. Among the lots discussed during the press conference were an item connected to Charles Leclerc, experiences in Paris and Dubai, and a five-day stay at a villa in Switzerland. Organisers also highlighted contributions from Monaco-based supporters.
There is nothing unusual about using spectacle to attract donations. In fact, it is part of the business model of major charity galas. The more useful measure is what remains once the spectacle is over.
Beyond the ballroom
The Global Gift Gala is still a relatively new addition to Monaco’s philanthropic calendar, but its second edition already carries a clear ambition: to build on the funds raised, deepen its support for charitable projects and strengthen its connection with the Principality over time.
Camille Gottlieb’s involvement gives that ambition a particularly meaningful dimension. Her role brings the perspective of a younger generation that sees philanthropy not simply as presence, but as participation — through time, commitment and continuity.
In Monaco, where philanthropy has long formed part of public life, the second Global Gift Gala has the opportunity to become not only a memorable evening, but a lasting point of connection between international causes and the Principality itself.
The second edition of the Global Gift Gala Monaco will be held on 9 October 2026 in the Salle Empire at the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo, bringing the Foundation’s international philanthropic calendar back to the Principality.
